Blackberry picking

I don’t know about you, but we’re wondering where this year has gone.

 How is it October and how have we been taking bookings for Christmas for months already!? It’s something we’ve slowly got our head around during September, as the logs have been ordered, the fires lit and the Sunday roasts will soon be returning. We've had an incredibly busy month with weddings, private events and plans for the coming festive season. Melanie did a talk on the refurbishment of the hotel as part of Tenby Arts Festival and the Ironman Wales took over the county for a weekend providing brutal conditions for all athletes involved. 

It's all starting to feel very Wintery here as the leaves float from the trees and Lucas spends hours, yes hours, sweeping and raking up the falling leaves.

The Penally Abbey family...

We have quite a few staff changes this Autumn too. Willie who is our morning positivity in the kitchen will sadly be retiring and Harry has headed off to University. In the kitchen we will be joined by the lovely Rachel who will be taking over all things baking and we will be sharing her kitchen delights with you very soon (keep an eye on our Instagram!). Our front of house team welcomes Claudia, Ellie and Lauren whilst Jordy will soon be heading off to travel the world. We are also all patiently, or maybe not so patiently, waiting for news that Miriam has had her baby boy - the youngest addition to the Penally Abbey family!

Foraging Fun

Since our wonderfully creative and talented Head Chef Jerry joined the hotel this Summer, his enthusiasm has been infectious. We have jumped on the foraging band wagon and have taken to helping Jerry forage for ingredients from the incredible variety that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
